Virgin Media Helps Customers to Make Informed Choice
A recent report by Ofcom suggested that customers are often completely unaware of actual speeds that their internet service providers are giving them. The report said that flashy advertisements often claim speeds that the technologies of service providers cannot support.
Reacting to this report, Virgin Media has decided to make sure that its customers are aware of actual speeds beforehand so that they can make an informed choice. Neil Berkett, CEO of Virgin Media, recently said that customers find information regarding speed limits quite baffling. He added that his company hopes customers will be able to make more informed choices based on its National Broadband Speed Promise – not sure of your broadband speed? Click on broadband speed checker to see if you are getting the broadband speed you were promised by your ISP.
The company has thus decided to declare actual possible speeds while promoting its ADSL broadband products. Otherwise, it will claim to provide the best speed possible. This is being done to bring some transparency in the promotional campaigns of internet service providers, and Virgin Media seems to be spearheading it.
Virgin Media’s customers will also enjoy a download speed of maximum 20Mb. It is also offering a special mobile internet facility for £5 that will enable its customers to download 1GB data. Besides, the customers will not have to pay extra line fee to any other service provider now as they can now directly get Virgin Media lines.
